Dear Parents,
As the term of the ’06 -’08 Executive Board comes to an end, there are many people we would like to thank. In keeping with our theme “SCS Lights the Way” these people have let their light shine on our school illuminating our commitment to the children.
We begin with the ’04 -’06 PTA Executive Board. The work they did left a sturdy foundation. They then continued to support us throughout the past two years whenever we needed them ~ even at a moments notice. Their commitment to the children and the school has remained strong and clearly has served our community well.
Monsignor Luebking we are thankful for your support of our various projects and your spiritual guidance through monthly Masses, prayer services and sacraments.
To Sr. Margo and Mrs. Rowan we say “Thank you” for seeing the ‘big picture’. They continually are mindful of not just one student, but every student. Their dedication to scholastics as well as to the child and the family continue to support the parent teacher relationship.
The faculty at SCS has always been accommodating and flexible in all we have asked. They have been our cheerleaders in collections from turkeys to “Hope for the Hut”. They’ve supported our children in our “Thank you card contest”. They’ve rearranged their lesson plans to allow us time out of the classroom for service activities such as prayer blankets, peace pole and “Art from the Heart”. They continue to meet our requests with positive attitudes and a willingness to help.
Our office staff ~ Mrs. Profita and Mrs. Bergin work on our behalf everyday. They are answering our questions, delivering messages, creating lists and labels, sorting envelopes sent in from our families for all of our events and fundraisers. We bother them on a daily basis and they have always made our responsibilities easier.
To our school maintenance staff, Bruce and Rich, we thank you for continually supporting us behind the scenes. Not a cup of coffee or assembly could have taken place without your assistance. There was never a request, as odd as they may have seemed, that you weren’t able to help us accomplish.
For our parents and grandparents there are not enough words of thanks. At this time of year, as we prepare for the Volunteer Mass and reception it becomes very evident that our school is what it is in large part because of family involvement. Over the course of the school year our parents and grandparents facilitate more than 30 events, FUNraisers, FUNDraisers, services, sports and programs to benefit our children. There isn’t a school around that can compare…Each day alone, more than 10 volunteers are scheduled to be in the building in a supporting role. Add to this the parents that are working on our behalf from their homes and the numbers are truly staggering.
To our students who embrace our ideas and projects with willing enthusiasm we thank you for inspiring us to reach new heights. You continually amaze us with the depth of your caring, the appreciation you express, your openness to new ideas and your joy for life. You are the reason we do all of this. Hopefully together we will build a better tomorrow.
To the incoming board, thank you for accepting your position and thank you for the dedication which comes along with that responsibility. You are sure to find the next two years challenging and very rewarding.
It has been our privilege and our profound pleasure to work along side of each of you. The commitment, energy, enthusiasm, time and talent that continues to flow from our school community is a true blessing. Therefore it is so appropriate that everything is done on behalf of our greatest blessing ~ our children.
